Itinerary
The Ouzoud waterfalls make for a spectacular day trip from Marrakech into the High Atlas Mountains. Departing early in the morning by private transport, it takes around 3 hours to reach the waterfalls from Marrakech, driving through small Berber villages and taking in views of the mountains.
The Ouzoud waterfalls themselves are located in a lush valley, with water cascading over three tiered cliff faces from a height of about 110 meters. The falls are impressively powerful after the snow melt, and surrounded by orchards and olive groves, with scenic walks offering panoramic views over the valleys. Visitors can hike along the bottom of the falls, take a boat ride under the spray, or climb up to the ridge overlooking the falls for Instagram-worthy views.
After working up an appetite from all the fresh mountain air and hiking, stop for a traditional Moroccan lunch at one of the restaurants near the falls, serving specialties like tagine and couscous. Before heading back to Marrakech, there's time for some last minute shopping for argan oil products in the villages around Ouzoud. Expect an early evening return to Marrakech after a full day taking in the natural beauty of Ouzoud waterfalls.
